What to Expect

Effective updates transform decaying pages into fresh content that's accurate, up-to-date, and highly relevant to your business needs.

To help with this - we just need access to your Google Search Console in the onboarding process (and editor access to your site for the done-for-you plans). This way we leverage data directly from Google to help with your SEO performance.

You may already know which pages you want updated. But if you're not sure yet, we'll help identify relevant content that complements your most valuable business operations and overall business goals.

We always prioritize updates for pages and blog posts related to your most profitable products and services.

With the actionable content audit included in the done-for-you plans, we'll also highlight pages that are cannibalizing / competing in the SERPs. As well as zombie pages that are best to be removed or 301 redirected to more important pages.

We'll also find orphan pages with recommendations for improve internal linking structure.

small example of part of a content audit.

Then, once you've signed off on our selection of pages to update first, we'll dive in and begin the updating process.

We'll find the best possible term for the pages as shown in Google Search Console, and analyze the SERP to ensure your page matches the intent, adding entire sections if needed.

And ensure the page is up to par with Google's search quality rater guidelines.

Typically, the goal is to improve the organic search traffic and conversion rate optimization (CRO) of your key pages.

Our process optimizes pages for people first, search engine crawlers second.

So while we enhance NLP and the structure of the page, we'll also improve readability, cutting out the fluff, and ensuring your readers are satisfied and can make informed decisions.

But as always, it's important to go above and beyond.

And this is where user experience and CRO come into play.

It's not enough to just change or add content, adjusting some facts and figures here and there.

Whenever appropriate, it's important to add visual components to boost engagement:

  • Infographics,
  • Images,
  • Relevant videos,
  • Tables,
  • Etc.

Whatever is helpful for user experience, time on page, and conversions.

Your content management is in good hands.

Some Of Our Results

How Often Should You Update Content?

I hate to say it, but it depends.

A good average would be every 6 months to a year.

But it can vary - some industries are so competitive that regular content updates are needed just to rank.

While others need them less frequently.

And it's also important to note here that, at least, regular updates aren't for everyone.

Our content updating services are designed for existing sites with a fair number of pages (100+ or even thousands of web pages).

That's why it's important we vet all potential clients before getting started to make sure you don't waste your time and money!

How Important Are Content Updates?

If you land on a page that has outdated content - how fast would you click back and find something newer?

Depending on the topic, it can be pretty darn fast.

Timely updates ensure this doesn't happen. They help the content you spent time or money creating actually deliver on what you wanted.

Because your web pages are marketing assets.

And when an update is done right, you transform old pieces of content into organic traffic (and link) generators.

Not only that - but you can also repurpose across all of your marketing channels.

And so, you can use content updates to grow your online presence on social media, video, and anywhere else you'd like too!

In short - we want to take the hassle of updates off your hands, and provide you with the best value possible.

Content Update Services FAQ

  • How do you determine which pages need updating first?

We start with your money pages - the ones tied to your most profitable products and services. Then we dive into your Google Search Console and GA4 data to spot pages losing traffic.

We also flag any cannibalization issues (when multiple pages compete for the same keywords) and orphan pages that need better internal linking.

Our almost laughably in-depth, actionable content audit with our done-for-you plans shows you exactly which pages will move the needle for your business.

And of course, we look at the engagement as a partnership, so we keep you in the loop every step of the way.

  • What access do you need to start?

For our content update reports, we really only need read-only access to your Google Search Console. However for the best possible results, GA4 can provide helpful engagement insights - and also help you set up proper tracking if you haven't yet!

For done-for-you updates, we also need editor access to your site. We don't ask for admin access - just enough to make the content changes. Think of it like giving us a guest editor account.

  • How long does it take to see results?

You'll notice user experience improvements right away - better readability, clearer calls-to-action, updated info.

SEO results typically show up in 2-8 weeks. Sometimes faster if Google crawls your site frequently. Sometimes longer in competitive niches. We track everything so you can see the progress.

  • What if I need more than 30 pages updated monthly?

For sure we can build a custom plan to meet your specific goals.

Tell us what you need, and we'll send a tailored plan that fits your budget and timeline.

  • Will you guarantee results?

We guarantee quality work - every updated page will follow current SEO best practices and match search intent.

We can't guarantee specific rankings (Google's algorithm changes constantly), but we stand behind our work. If you're not happy with the quality, we'll make it right.

  • Do you fix technical SEO issues?

We handle basic issues we bump into - broken internal links, missing meta descriptions, messy header structures.

Our focus stays on content optimization. For complex technical problems (site speed, crawl issues, schema markup), we'll require an add-on service.

But we'll typically be able to spot these via our initial free site checkup before kicking off the engagement.
